Scope & Content Journal written by Harvey Jones during his overland journey from Whig, Grant County, Wisconsin to Seattle, Washington Territory in 1854. It also includes various letters written by him, his wife, and an administrator handling the affairs of his estate. The journal describes a violent confrontation with Indians near Fort Boise; ferry prices per wagon and per head of cattle; other confrontations with Indians in the White River valley; aspects of travel and farming in the White River Valley.
